What is Voki?

Voki is an online educational tool for both teachers and students. With Voki, they can express themselves on the Internet while using their own voice and a talking character. They can create their own speaking characters and use them in their learning-teaching processes to present content and share information. Teachers can use Voki to enhance and enrich their instructions, engage their students in their classes, and create better lesson comprehension.

How to Use Voki?

Also, I chose a free subscription and I will be able to use limited features of Voki. However, you can choose to use the paid version and try various features. 

Also, on their website, you can find a lot of information about how to use Voki to teach different subjects such as math, science, social studies, alphabets, and especially foreign languages. When you click on the specific subject, you can watch a very informative video about Voki and how to use it in that specific field.

After signing up, you can start creating your own speaking characters from the 'Create' section:

In the first picture, I created a lovely lady representation of myself however I did not realize that she was a paid version so I had to change my character. You can see the new version of me in the second picture. 

In this 'Create' part, you can choose to be cartoon characters, anime, normal people, animals, famous people, fantastic creatures, and so on. Also, you can change your clothing, background, the color of your eyes, skin, and hair and put on makeup, etc.

After finishing your adjustments, you can start to write the things that your character will be talking about. Also, you can choose different voices and accents for your own speaking character and finally let her or him speak.

Furthermore, you can share your speaking character and speech with other people through various platforms.

The features of Voki is not just creating speaking characters but also you can create your own presentations on Voki and share them with your students.

Moreover, you can create your students' accounts, create a classroom, assign homework to your students, review the homework, and give feedback to them on Voki.

You can also create hangouts, put some interesting discussion topics, allow your students to post answers with their speaking characters, and create a fun learning-teaching environment on Voki.
