Infographics and Wordle: Make Learning Effective!

Hello lovely people! Today I am going to talk about infographics and share my experience in preparing infographics. Before talking about my experience, let me talk about infographics in detail.

What are Infographics?

Infographics consist of two words: info and graphics. As you can understand info means information and graphics are the visual representations of something. An infographic is "a visual representation of information or data".

Why we should use Infographics?

Infographics are very useful for making complex information easy to understand and absorb. We as teachers can use infographics to help our students to:

Remember the information easily.

Learn more information effectively in a short time.

Have fun while learning because the expression of the information will be creative.

Also, the human brain perceives visual information 3 times faster than written information, and only 20% of what we have read and 80% of what we see remains in our minds. So providing infographics can help us to teach effectively and permanently.

Some Tools for Infographics

My Infographic for Drama In ELT

I want to share the infographic that I prepared on Wordle, talk about my experience, and give a guideline to you about how you can use it in your classrooms as well.

First of all, it is a free platform and you can easily access it on the Internet. When you open the website you will see their introduction that talks about the Wordle itself and the 'Create Now' button. Also, there are some examples that you can check out and edit if you want.

After clicking on the 'Create Now' button, you can start to type your information on the box.

For instance, as you can see, I wrote the benefits of drama in English Language Teaching in my box and started to edit the information's colors, locations, text boldness, etc. Like me, you can edit your infographic the way you desire from the tools on the left side and make changes accordingly.

Here is the final version of my infographic:

Last but not least, if you want to get more information about how to create an infographic you can check this video out:

Thank you for reading. I will see you in my next blogs. Until then take care!
